Pearls And Lace

I am sitting here in the cool beautiful mountains
Watching the leafs slowly drip the morning dew
Looking quietly thinking of you
Putting my feet into a cool stream
It seems as though it's only a dream
The cold clear water is flowing over my toes
The wind is blowing through my hair
There are many beautiful wild flowers everywhere
Green grass and the smell of spring
Like the love in your heart, and the joy that you bring
As I slowly take, a look around
My thoughts go wildly bouncing without sound
Wondering why lifes fairness can't be found
So many things I just don't understand
Thank you for giving me a helping hand
I am so thankful through all of your strife
You still include me in your life
I see the butterflys flying around
It's as though they are smiling
My thoughts of you, they have found
With all of the struggles life has given to you
Thank you for not giving up
For showing your kindness, and love so true
You have a heart with lace and pearls
You are loved by all, even my girls
I guess what I am really trying to say
Thank you for bringing laughter my way
Thank you for showing me, the meaning of love
It reminds me of a pure white dove
When I look in the water, I see a reflection of you
It's as though you are saying hi, what's new
I reached out my hands to give you a hug
Your face disappeared
Then I felt a big "thug"
when I awake I am on the floor
I listen and hear a tap at my door
It is a pure white dove sent from you
Bearing a gift and your love to
Delivering a pearl wrapped in lace
To always remind me of your smiling face

I wrote this poem for my Aunt Pastye. Thank you for your kindness and love. You are a very special person in our life's. She is battling breast cancer. Please keep her in your prayers.

    A very touching write. The simplicity is brilliant, just what the poem needs to portray the meaning and message. I love how this poem can be about a total different life, a total different story...it really relates to my life. Maybe we have a lot in common, you never know...

    Oh, and the title takes the cake, sweets. Great write!

      Thank you! I try to write my poems to where others can identify with them as well. I try to make them to where someone else can apply them to their lifes as well. I think that writing is great for helping with daily struggles and issues. I like to share my poems and feelings hoping that I can help someone else. Thanks for sharing.

    This is very cute, Tina. A nice romantic write and a very good tribute you yourself, and your friend. Nature is so serene, and so beuatiful, and we can find comfort and relax, or we can dream about it. Thanx for sharing.
