A FINAL ACT I PLAY ... and yet ...

ALL FADES INTO NOTHINGNESS AT LAST,
FADES fast, flame flame attracts, itself devours.
INTO Time’s vacuum hours suction hours –
NOTHINGNESS : the frame for fame when Past
AT journey’s end the Future meets to cast
LAST dies with Fate – which late or early sours.
ASHES CHILLING TIME’S IMMORTAL POWERS :
CHILLING bigot,  priest, iconoclast.
TIME’S melting pot’s a plumbless well, repast
IMMORTAL, tasteless still, which overpowers
POWERS of perception, leaves life’s flowers
Lost and blighted ‘neath the blast, soon passed.
AND yet ... Youth’s fountain springs, denies ‘too late’.
YET Hope would prove fears dupes, Love knows no date !

  • The proverbial tone of your poem makes it worthwhile and long lasting:

'ALL FADES INTO NOTHINGNESS AT LAST'
    '............Love knows no date!'

    The piece is highly thought-provoking.
    Well-composed indeed!

  • Hmmm yes, another one of your greats. Love the way you do word acrostics, instead of the basic acrostic itself. Interesting!

Love fades all into all and time becomes timeless to those caught in the momentum of it full throttle.

POWERS of perception, leaves life’s flowers
Lost and blighted ‘neath the blast, soon passed

... beautiful words and so true with lovely rhythm and rhyme and there is no reasoning where love is concerned.

You got that right, my Friend...Love is unaffected by Time. Ahhh, to have the wisdom of the Now & the energy of the Then. Indeed, it is a perilous path one must walk when we lose someone. Still, they walk right along beside us, guiding us from harm's way. Beautiful, as always, dear Scribe. Wanda
