The old house stands in the naked woods
Upon a little knoll
Its logs have greyed
And no one lives there now
Yet they say
You can here children play
If no ones making a sound
It was in the yard, bodies’ chard
The grizzly site was found
There were the three
Two boys and a girl
All lying beneath a tree
One man said to another
My god they are so young
Three little children burnt alive
We must find this murderous one
As months changed to years
No one was ever found
The house, the yard
Now completely broken down
People still visit with flowers in hand
To the place in the woods when ever they can
The house is still there with its secret untold
The children still play and never grow old
Author notes
If they only searched the house a little better
Is this to open-ended?

Nice dark write, wonderful imagery. I can faintly hear children in the background.

Hello, John...
This leaves me with goose bumps. One street over from where I live, two children died in a house fire. Their mother had left them alone for a few minutes and lost them forever. I don't know how the fire started. Such a cheat, death is, but even more so when it is by fire which could have been prevented. And to think someone could deliberately burn a child is beyond my comprehension. Grizzly, indeed.
Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you will enjoy AP as much as I have.

Wow, this is so cool, I love ghost stories, is this a true story or fictional? It's sad either way, but you tell it in a spooky way which adds to the subject, really good.
