No Tears For a Happy Ending

Tears fall softly down your face,
Sliding, sliding, hanging,
Drop.

Littered about
are the fragments of your shattered heart.
Jagged mirrors to pain without.

Innocence gone,
Left forever,
Like the ignorance of your mind,
Naivety of your soul.
Once called bliss.

To scream is not an option,
Death is too good for you.
Echoes rebound off the hollow inside
Of what you call your being.

Don't say a word,
Just close your eyes,
and
  fall,
        fall,
            fall,

down,
down,
down,

Welcome the darkness with a blackened embraced,
Tainted memories of what will never be.
Release towards the burning, rising sun,
Your painful sorrows,
No happily ever after,
Meant for you.

Author notes

I just felt like writing this, as i just found out that my grandfathers girlfriend passed away. we were never very close, but it still came as a shock. i don't mention what happened to the subject; i want the reader to imagine that for themselves.

This poem conveys the hoplessness it is trying to express perfectly. A very deep, powerful, poem.
