The evening shadow falls
Now great days I recall
The Days I spent with you
As only two lovers would do
Holding hands and kissing as we go
Sharing sweet nothings that only
we would know
Making plans for the future
How far can we go?
Will our love last for ever we hope so?
How many children will we have?
Will our house be big or small
And what about our wedding day
we will share our love with all
All these thing we did achieve and many more
We had our ups and downs
but each other we adored
We had our time of sorrow
as we lost a little one
Then many years later a precious
Daughter's live was gone
The pain almost ripped us apart
but together we belonged
The love of God and for each other
kept us going on
A few more years and you were gone too
All our dreams and plans over
As I live alone without you
God knows what the future holds
and if there's a place for me
Now my story has been told and I will
have to wait and see

my first impression was that this was going to be about abuse of some sort, but it's not....it's about stength and hope and pulling through...that is until the last stanza....i thought the emotion in this piece was wonderfully expreesed and it was so not what I was expecting....it is a little dark and painful (but i like dark and painful)....this piece has a lot of REALITY in it and I think that is what makes this piece really shine.
