Even if you're searching every which way.
It's like walking through a desert,
Searching so hard for water, yet instead
You find sand and a sun that grows hotter.
They say that there's other fish in the sea.
Well, it may have been true for them,
But is sure isn't true for me.
Cuz there's as many sharks as fish,
Sharks that leave you battered, bruised
On a lonely beach, crying, dying, and feeling so used.
You know, it's all fun and games
Just joking aroung until all too soon,
You're trying to duck his vicious blows,
Amd no one knows...
You hide bruises so no one can see
How you're no longer the person you used to be.
The cries and pain you hold deep inside,
The tears, you try so hard to hide.
But finally it finds it way out,
And people see what you're really about.
Yet instead of indifferent shrugs,
All you seem to find are loving and comforting hugs.
Instead of hurting, you find healing.
And with friendship comes freedom.
And with a new found trust, you finally find hope.
Hope.
Hope and love.
True love
Author notes
This poem was inspired a true story-my story. I looked for love, and I thought I found it when I found Him. Instead, I found pain, a lot of it, and I was too afraid to try and escape what he did to me. When it finally came out, I thought this was the end. I thought everyone would treat me differently. I was so wrong. I got hugs, and I found hope, and found an inner beauty which has helped me heal.
If anyone who reads this poem is in an abusive relationship, message me. I am willing to listen and help you find the healing and the true love that you deserve. If you wanna talk, I'm just a click away.
