A cerulean globe hung on black
twirls on solar orbital track.
Buffed by a white misty glaze
fired in a kiln of sunlit rays.
Half light, half dark, partners in twin
merging where tilted axis spin.
Caps of ice crowning poles of snow
like crystal diamonds set aglow.
A pitted Moon with smiling face
enchants the night from dark of space.
A boiling mass of burning flame
earns spotted Sun its claim to fame.
Rushing onward at break-neck speed
as fate sows humanity's seed.
The universe is like specks of dust
accelerating with big-bang thrust.
Earth lies amidst a billion stars,
third rock between Venus and Mars.
Caught in gravity’s great expanse
it swirls about in cosmic dance.

Simple yet effective poetry. The meter was hypnotizing and the work rose and swelled with the beat of our playful dance with space. But may I ask, if the milky way is our conductor then what beat does the universe dance too? Again, very enchanting and intelligent piece, BRAVO!
