To destinations hopeful
but found dead ends instead

the place I missed the turn
Where signs were showing clearly
“From here there’s no return”
Could I have been so blinded
by stars that twinkle bright
To never really notice
the one in broad daylight
Oh Lord, I know you hear me
I’ve done what men can do
A miracle is needed now
that’s why I turn to You
If only I had grasped my dreams
instead of other plans
I’d have my prayers answered
right here in both my hands
Oh Lord, forget I bothered
it’s not Your job, I see
To share true love’s a blessing
that’s really up to me

I don't think God hears your sincere prayer as a "bother". He hears and knows...
There is such sadness here Leo. I think we all take turns that lead us onto paths hard to follow. Pebbles in our shoes are mere reminders that we can walk barefoot in life and still feel some pain.
This is such a wondrous work! I know many who, after reading this stellar rhyming work,attest to these sentiments.
You never have to be lonely dearest friend. I am reaching through the miles with an elongated hug.

honest and sincere poem that reads well with rhyme and cadence! A touch of nostalgia which is easy to ID with and yet ... the last line holds the key to happiness.

Leo, what's up to you is just what you have done...pray for God's help and guidance. Some would say I've overstepped my bounds, but I truly believe that God answers prayers. He may not answer them in the way we want, but He does answer them.

This makes one feel as if they are in the center of a broken place. A feeling of regret,hopelessness, unworthiness especially in the last stanza. I always admire the way you are able to articulate thoughts and feelings. Its not easy for me to do that so when I read it I'm always genuinely touched by it. You make it tangible, not everyone can do that.
