Swirling in a vortex of sadness and confusion
I'm trying had to forget your name
Blinded entirely by the illusion
I was merely a moth, drawn to the flame
You were so flirty, so handsome, so bold
You made me feel that I was the only one
One smile, one gesture, one word I was sold
I was the planets and you were the sun
How was I to know it was all just an act
Though I figured it out after a while
When I finally saw the real you, in fact
Without the facade and all the beguile
I loved you more, the man inside
But you didn't love him like me
The person you tried so hard to hide
You couldn't take me knowing, so you chose to flee
It was the sweetness of your skin
That I remember most
The things we might have been
Are now long gone, they're toast
I was filled with the hope
To wish impossible things
God I was such a dope
You broke all my heartstrings
I wonder are you in a vortex too
Of regrets and sad confusion
Do you feel the way I do
Opting for only seclusion

    thank you very much! in addition to being based on one of my favorite songs this is a true story as well.every time i hear that song it makes me cry and yearn for the person it was written about.

    this poem was amazing! i had never heard of this song but i listened to it and you did a wonderful job!

    Title-9.5 obviously the correct title to go with the song!
