What is it that we gotta live for
if everything is just a freaking lie?
What does it mean to lead a full life
when everything is all trash and falls to pieces?
Do we live, do we learn,
do we love, do we laugh
like the crazy hyenas of the wild?
Just what is the point of this life anyway?
Is life like a waterfall,
crystal-clear water cascading down
or a muddy stream
with dead fishes and wasted lives?
Is this a giant game orchestrated
by our beloved maker
or a sincere portrait of
hope, love and faith?
Do we hope to believe otherwise,
do we tremulously grasp the
thin line of hope offered to us?
I'm just asking, do we dare trust in this life?
The first cry on earth is yours-
born to live, or born to die?
Does it even matter,
in this inevitable game of life and death?
What is it about this life
that we got to contemplate?
This giant puzzle that
has everyone scrambling for the missing pieces.
Life is a dream,
that can instantaneously turn into a nightmare.
Life is the only reality of you and me,
or the actual reality of only one?
Life is the way we choose to live,
or the middle path to gradual annihilation.
It is to live without fear,
to not fear death, that one truly begin to live.
Life is the roulette wheel,
the greatest gamble of all.
Life is my obsession,
it is the only light left flickering in the darkness.

Interesting...
I enjoyed reading this poem, it really makes me think.
"It is to live without fear,
to not fear death, that one truly begin to live."
This is a very insightful line, I really like it. Fear can be a awesome motivator, but not always a good one.

This is really thought-provoking and uses a lot of powerful words and phrases. It sounded rather pessimistic at first, but the ending made it memorable. My favorite part: "The first cry on earth is yours-
born to live, or born to die?
Does it even matter,
in this inevitable game of life and death?"
Thanks for entering my contest! Shya -
Please enter a short snappy poem if you want to perform in the contest- it should be similar to the samples in the contest description- something introducing yourself and why you will make a great competitor.

You have a lot of questions here and I think they are good questions, it would be nice if I could answer them but unfortunately a person must answer their own. As for the poem I thought it was well thought out and memorable.
