If I had eyes to see,
I'd know who was happy and who was lonely.
I'd bypass happy people with a friendly smile,
and talk to the lonely;
I'd have lots of friends then:
people would flock to make eye contact with me.
If I had eyes to see,
I'd know who was crying, and who was laughing,
I'd know who to hug and who to leave well alone,
I'd have a reputation for being the kindest in the class,
people would stop and smile at me when they walked past,
there's no point thinking what I could have been,
If I had eyes that could have seen.
Author notes
Being blind is both a blessing and a curse, depending on the time and my mood. I don't think this is particularly well written, but see what you think.
