I view the world in shades of gray
I do not stop to see its colors
Rushing through the world like this
I spare no thought for others
Considering the sights I’ve seen
You’d think I’d feel alive
But I have never felt so helpless
In a world where beauty dies
History has come again
To repeat its deadly acts
But I do not see the danger
In my world of white and black
I’ve forgotten what its like to cry,
To laugh, to love, to feel
I wonder if I’m happy
And I wonder if it’s real
Years have passed, too long for me
I know it is my time
I wish I would’ve stopped to see the colors
I wish I’d felt alive
I close my eyes and smile
I smile through the pain
Never will I see again
My lonely world of gray

I hope you don't mind my adding you to my fav list,in fact,YOU are the list. When I read your words I find them so unsettling that even while I'm not logged in I'm thinking about them. You are exceptionally talented in my opinion.I have one poem "Fragmented Futility",that I would be honored for you to read and give me feedback on.It is indeed a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
