I want no stone monuments
Nor any plaques in halls.
I want to be remembered,
And mourned when I am gone.
I want them all to say
"You know, he tried,
And for all his faults
He did his very best."
I want to have left a mark
As a many who lived
So that others might live well
If only for the briefest of time.
I want everyone to know
That I did not pass through the world,
But that I went above, below, around,
through and beyond its glory.
Most importantly, I want people to smile
When they remember my name and face
And when they also succumb to fate,
I want us all to meet again.
Author notes
This is all true. I want to be rmemebered as a man who tried to live well, and a man who left as many people smiling as possible.

Nicely done. Reminds me of a song by Emerson Drive called A Good Man. I believe that's the name. Thanks for entering and good luck!
