Here is to all the broken hearted
The course of love seems so uncharted
Once we are stricken with a stray arrow
The path to happiness seems so narrow
Passion leaps right past the lust
We search for the one we can trust
To depend on in times of need
That marvelous, yet rare breed
Do we fall victim to natural selection,
Or an altered rib that is poor protection?
From the horrible pain of plain rejection,
As we persistently seek erotic perfection.
No one knows more how it feels.
Thank God the broken heart heals.
As each new day brings another chance,
For the ecstasy of a true romance

Nice read
I like the poem, I am not a fan of rhyme but this worked nicely. the 3rd stanza was brilliant.
Do we fall victim to natural selection,
Or an altered rib that is poor protection?
From the horrible pain of plain rejection,
As we persistently seek erotic perfection.
Loved it. Also ended strongly, cannot wait for more. 7.5/10.
