You captured me with a nonchalant air.
A smile in the corner of your eyes
leaked into my heart before I was
conscious of the effect it would have on me.
Then there is the whole episode
called Africa. Your heart proved larger
than even I could recognize and you
consumed a continent, held its children
one at a time close to you, pulled
the verdant plains around you like a toga.
What could I say, but “Bring them home.
There is always room for one
more at the table.”
Then I remembered. From the start
you had found a way to run your fingers
along my nervous system, send your smile
through the pulse of the planet and leave
me shivering with the joy of your kisses.
I should of realized from the beginning,
I never stood a chance.

Very imaginative! Leaking smiles...
The lines:"run your fingers
along my nervous system, send your smile
through the pulse of the planet" really caught me. So I read it aloud. Sounds as good as it reads! Congrats, p

I am at heart a lyrical poet. I like the way poetry sounds when it is read aloud. That you would read mine aloud and have this add to your pleasure in the piece only adds to my feelings of success. Thank you.
Peace & LIght,

This is most charming, showing love for a woman of tenderness and beauty.
Your words always capture the essence of the one you write about. She is wonderful may she be blessed by your words,
magic!

What can I say, but "Thanks." Love is its own reward. Often, it counts most when it sneaks up on us.

This reminds me of Lady C as I call her, she has a heart with a vastness of the heavens..and I journeyed with her, learned and loved her words. It's so wonderful to see through anothers eyes. You have capture a part of her soul here. You always amaze me.
I would love to hear you read this so That I could be embraced by your emotions..... for this wonderul lady....

Excellent writing
perfect title: She has a magic quill, you know!

It should remind you of Cannonsfire. It was written for her and to her. i just did it conversationally. Cause in its own way it is all so true. She and her friend Juls are coming to the states. I want to throw a big gathering of nearby AP poets when she comes to this area.

Speechless...one I just want to absorb in silence, not a word or sound to disturb it. My heart is large and full of Africa, its children and beauty but it had enough room to bury you deep within its walls, to bring you out and let you hold me in the awe of it all.
Love, C

I wasn't arguing with any of that, rather expressing my love and awe.
