They say "I've got your back.",
When you're not really in need.
Though when you need them the most,
Whos the one to flee?
When you get into a fight,
Whos the last one there?
Is the whole krew with you,
Or just thin air?
When you get caught,
Selling and dealing drugs.
The police ask you, "Are you the only one?"
Who's there to say yes?
"I've got your back.",
Is mearly just a phrase.
Friends stay friends,
Until a day when the bond is broken.
Everything unspoken,
All the true friends show.
Maybe the one you least talk to,
Maybe the one you don't know.

Some of the wording is a little confusing (for example, the last stanza), but the overall message is good. Sometimes, when one is caught up in the game of drugs, one loses their sense of self and throws all their trust into faulty friends. But once they're in trouble or go through treatment, those so-called friends are nowhere to be found. Interesting theme choice, but I liked it nonetheless.
