Yard Sale Debris

Missing image

~~~~~
A day all alone
sitting among
the discarded clothes
scattered on the floor
with the buzz in my brain
humming
something
from a long time ago
with its musty strum
caressing the backbone
of a faded memory
But the ache in the muscle
groans with the gravity
as I rise to the sound
pounding in my head
with its round, pin-pricks
of pain
piercing the numb
veined surfaces of worn
So I shake it awake
and let it breathe through my lungs
already crowded
with today’s dusty dreams
still hanging in the closet
~~~~~~~

    Loved the ending of this poem and the way you've weaved seemingly contrasting images together - well done!

    I also liked the personification of a day here and how the opening and closing lines seem to hug this poem. Yes, so much in a day. One thing that I appreciate in a poem is the ability of the writer to carry a metaphor through from beginning to end and I think you've achieved exactly that here in this poem. Very creative application of metaphor and some wonderful abstract images here. This is lovely poetry - thank you for your entry.

    Very creative title you have chosen for this poem, and picture as well. Amazing images these words bring to mind, and thoughts it shares. Found the ending very poignant and fitting.
