~ O ~
coyote howls,
the werewolf prowls
a baby cries,
the oceans rise
a man goes mad,
prognosis: bad
seeds are planted,
wishes granted
lovers spoon
by the light of the
enchanting,
entrancing,
mysterious,
delirious
moon!

The lovers must
love each other bunches
to risk becoming one
of the werewolf’s lunches.
I’m sorry.
I just couldn’t help it.
Nice poem. Congratulations on the Silver.

Ah, the form,
trailing down the page,
shining a reflective trail
of moon on water,
as my eye believes it.
An artistic piece.

Your poem, picture and video are a nice treat, Maureen. The moon means so much to plant and animal life (the human animal included) And your poem sort of brings them all into it.
I like the presentation of this very good piece

Thanks a lot, Darlene!
I've always been fascinated by the moon and the way it influences our behavior.

Dear Maureen, An exquisite poem my dear friend, I too love the single lines to the end. The picture is beautiful and the song is one of my favorites too.
Good luck in our contest.
Love Hine

The moon does seem to have that effect on people. One thing is sure, it won't make me go mad...I already am mad.

I like the one word build-up to the end. And I always like video.

Thank you, Yem! I'm a bit loony myself..birds of a feather, eh?

Glad you liked my poem and video!

Dear Maureen, Your poem is certainly very beautifully written in your illustrious style.
Very romantic my dear Soul/Sister.
And I love the song "Dancing in the moonlight"

Dear Joan,
Thank you, my sweet Soul/Sister!
I'm glad we like the same songs (but I'm not surprised..we have so much in common)!

Dear Anonymous,
Oh dear! Another entrant who ignored rule 6. I don't know whose silly idea it was to make contests anonymous because, as an official in ours, I don't get to judge anyway and I resent the implication that, if I could, I'd judge you unfairly if I knew your name!
And if others don't know the author's name, how can they record their votes at the end of contest?
However, dear Maureen, i guess it's you by the style of poem, if not by the choice of picture! Unfortunately, just now I can't spare the time to open the U-Tube which takes too long to buffer!
I love your poem - especially the appropriate aspects of lunar effect and the descriptively adjectival ending.
Applause, love and hugs and good luckj in the voting! XXX Hugh (R.)

Dear Hugh,
I apologize for not including my name at the end of my poem (I have a good memory but it's short!). I like to think of myself as the absent-minded professor (at least that implies there's something going on in my mind)!
I'm happy you liked my lunar poem. I have an affinity for the moon and respect for its power over us. I wish you could see the music video..don't know if you remember the song "Dancin' in the Moonlight" but many people love it! Although it was recorded in the 70's, there's been renewed interest in it since Walmart used it in one of their commercials. If I gave you the link to U Tube, would that solve the buffering problem? Do you have the latest version of Windows Media Player? I watch videos from all over the world with no buffering required (just wonderin').
Love and Hugs,
Maureen
P.S.: I know you're very busy these days. Watching my video can wait! I know that taking care of Edna and doing all the household chores, etc. is taking up most of your day. You and Edna are in my prayers. I'm praying for things to improve SOON! God bless both of you!
