I'm lost in this world,
With not even a friend,
And then it all changed,
When I rounded the next bend.
I was lost without hope,
Never seeming to be found,
Now I'm standing here,
Finally on firm ground.
I can lay back and see,
All that I missed before,
When I was so scared,
When I was never sure.
Now that there's hope,
Now that there's time,
Now that there's something,
To truly call mine.
I sit in the grass,
And look at the sun,
And feel the light,
As I stand up to run.
To run to the world,
Instead of away,
Because I'm finally ready,
To find MY game to play.

I think you have described some great truths. When we are preoccupied with fear and discouragement, when we focus in on them, we usually fail to notice the beauties and peace and sweetness that are also part of life.
It is so easy to loose perspective, especially when we are hurting. For me, this is when reaching out to serve or encourage someone else is vital--it helps me get back some perspective, and realize everyone has challenges (and some are a whale of a lot bigger than mine!).
Bravo, on finding your strength and determination to "stand up...to run to the world Instead of away!"
May you find, and create, beauty and peace
