The Prize

Too often I find myself looking for the prize
something out of the cereal box said to be free.
or an easy contest in which I can enter.
How easily I am shamed by trivial charm.
Of such things I am amazed how easily they bind
and when drowned by such tings we don’t have a prayer.

I have lived my life on a hope and a prayer,
but I have never traded my life for the prize.
This world is overwrought with things that easily bind.
as we sell our souls for things we think are free
We find ourselves mesmerized by the one who can charm
and it is on their terms we are forced to enter.

This state of the world we have been forced to enter
and if you deny this you will not have a prayer.
So baffle the bull shitters and give them your best charm.
Let your mind wrap around the focus of your prize.
Everything has a cost the air we breath is not free.
If you know this then you know all ties will bind.

You will also be given ties in which to bind.
Worthy deals are always the hardest to enter.
Beware of anything that bares the word free
and remember it is good to keep a book of prayer.
as you must weight the cost of each and every prize
and you must judge the merits of its charm.

The most destructive souls also have the most charm
and their ties are the hardest steel in which to bind.
They also have the most tantalizing prize.
A contest in which anyone can enter.
If you are entrapped by them you haven’t got a prayer.
They will not give you a get out of jail free

So beware of anything in life that says free
and those who smile with white teeth and great great charm
When they pray theirs is a such different prayer
for it is the devil that does their binding
and you know the place they want you to enter.
You will be there if you take their prize.

So say your prayers beware of the bindings
and watch the charmer as well as the lair you enter.
Nothing is for free even the smallest prize.
