1
Today I am here in this meadow
with the warm sun shining down
on the green grass
I am learning to forget myself
refusing my whirlwinds
from my other life.
That place where I scurry around
like a little mouse in need of cheese
2
Here I can lie back and listen
to the warm voice of the wind.
A voice I’ve needed to hear for far too long
When I close my eyes
a sensual lover appears.
She sings songs to me
and touches me
in soft ways
that makes me melt.
I fall into her body.
3
Here it does not matter
that I am common.
I hear the birds singing
in their little trills
I hear the buzz of busy bees
watch the sway of fresh flowers
blooming in myriad hues.
It does not matter who I am
the gift is given freely.
And freely I accept it.
