Visions I saw as a child one day,
how this little fairy danced and played.
Caught it once from the cornor of my eye,
and how she seemed so happy and spry.
Often I tried to catch her,
yet she danced just out of reach.
Often she would stop to inspect a butterfly,
then as I grew older I found that fairy was me.
I never let her leave completly,
for she gave me joy.
And never ever told any of my secrets,
to any of the boys.
The day my heart was broken I saw her there alone,
so solomn and bent over yet her tears were never shown.
I lay myself upon the ground and she held me so close,
for she was my best friend all along you know.
Often she whispered in my ear wont you come and play,
we can dance amongst the flowers and I will show you the way.
To see your playmate grow up and still want to dance,
it's a heart felt love for each day she takes your hands.
Then I grew very old and so was my shadow as I was told,
now our dance is ending and I asked her why!
Then a soft voice I heard her whisper in my ears,
fairies turn into angels bye and bye.
A smile crept across this tired old face,
as my last breath left me that day.
And in the spirite I saw a mist of shimmering light,
dancing up to the heavens in the sky.

This is amazing. What a wonderful thought, so deep and full of emotion.

This is a very different way of looking at things. Makes you hope that there is something more to look forward to.
