He wore vanity's fur, arrogance purring from his heart,
nature's creatures were tolerated, but never equal to his glory,
mixture in moods from groans to acceptance when daughter brought home kitten.
Accepted the cute poses, times Fluffy cuddled against his back
when he napped and dreamt of being a god,
still stuck in mire of superiority, confident no feline could ever rival his greatness.
Moment of stress disdain lead to snarl when he lost his car keys
stomping around house, spewing forth incoherent, inequitable accusations.
Kitty more intuitive than he knew , used feline seer senses to find keys in boots,
now he treats pet with respect, giving her prime cat foods, petting her tenderly,
but also placing her paws on lottery number sheet, hoping her gifts will bring gold.
