Moon on Fire

I stare at the void of night,
With nothing but red glows in sight.
The clouds are covering whats inside,
For the source of the red glow is to hide.

One dark cloud falls away,
Then another and another in a pirouette of ballet.
The moon was burning,
I sat there returning,
It's fiery gaze.

I saw it blaze,
Which was one of many reasons to be amazed.
I kept on walking the lonesome street,
I could hear nothing but the moons burn and my lone feet.

A lunar eclipse,
I would say,
'But this isn't right, it's the wrong day'

The forces of space are strange,
And work in so many ways.
But when something like this happens you can change,
and the sight set not only the night,
but also my heart ablaze.
