Identity

Nameless
Faceless
How to distinguish,
Between two bodies?

Emotionless
Lifeless
How to distinguish,
Between two souls?

Thoughtless
Speechless
How to distinguish,
Between two minds?

To distinguish,
Among seas of metal.
Impossible.

Robotic.
Motionless.
Controlled.
Cold.

Humankind

Oh, this is a marvelous conception of humankind. Those last few lines are the most startling and very, very affecting. An accurate capture of the modern-day mindset and essence of the rather rotten, predictable, mechanical dross that makes up our society. Aye, definitely…ignorance pillages and plunders any fragment of identity and humanitarianism from mankind- insensitive and uncaring, emotionless, sterile…Wow, this is great. “To distinguish/ Among seas of metal./ Impossible.” I really loved those lines. The flow to this piece is marvelous, and the tone is so chilling and real, and hard hitting. But wow…those last five lines…absolutely incredible. Oh, this is definitely a well-written, thrilling, and very, very realistic piece. Ugh, this is just absolutely superb.
