Edison failed like everyone
two hundred and fifty times,
tried again
invented a bulb,
that lighted dark nights
each setback
a step near to success,
negates ‘what is not’
brings truth closer
mirages turn out oases
if one persist,
lest one misses them
living life of thirst,
amidst sandy deserts
tree stays along
losing autumn leaves,
waits in patience,
until spring renews it,
tender replace fallen
gets new lease of life
gifts of life plenty,
each mishap
brings forth many hopes,
every break down
rescued by thousand standbys,
when one did not give up
Author notes
Edisons persistence removed darkness from night with lighting a lamp, though he was unsuccessful many times, a good lesson for all of us not to give up amidst setbacks

I really enjoyed this poem, it's inspiring and not at all depressing which is refreshing when you stumble across poetry that stirs another sort of emotion

Nice work!
mirages turn out oases
if one persist,
lest one misses them
living life of thirst,
amidst sandy deserts
