He walked further across my universe
than the sound of man

warming me
into a state of calm

and I'd smile
taking a step backwards
watching him disappear into his own adventure

only to return for a moment
giving me that certain kind of love

    Love the title--it's so in-your-face but sweet.

    Nice verb use with 'warming'.

    My favorite stanza would have to be the first one--"than the sound of man" is so evocative...nicely written, good luck in the contest!!
