Silence of what needs be said
permeates through stilted air.
Deepest regret and sorrows
bubble over in need of exposure
Trips down memory lane best
never traveled again beckon
from the darkest recesses of the soul
And yet here I lie......
Captivated by the ceiling tiles
pondering the emotions that I stifle
Dying a little more each time
I visit this couch...
For in reality, there are times
that it's best to leave things unsaid....

Very well written... After a while you get tired of biting your tongue and keep some things to yourself... Aren't ya glad now we can vent poetically...???

Congratulations for your silver on this. Deep emotions ever so slightly veiled, and how true, some things are better left unsaid. Beautiful!

truth is penned behind these words. I find it best to move on, learn from your past, but don't dwell in. How does that saying go.....something like..Don't dwell in the past or plan to far for the future because today is a gift that shouldn't be missed and that's why it is called the present. Any way kinda rambling here..
Captivated by the ceiling tiles
love this phrase. I've used forms of it in different ways myself. Grats on the silver!!!!

Wow.. this hit me hard hun.. I have been on those couches and pushed to reveal the darkest of things, that I refuse to ever talk about... because I agree.. sometimes it's best to leave things unsaid.. why open old wounds...
A darkly beautiful write!

True words. Sometimes things are better left unsaid. Most of the time people don't abide by that but...eh, you win some, you lose some.
Great expression in your words.

hmm wow so maybe this is why I never sit upon or lie down on my couch.. avoid it at all costs.. this my dear sister is brilliant.... once again you have captured so much with your words. I have a such a long way to go, to be able to say such profound things, within a poem
excellent job with not only your poem but also your take on the prompt..
good luck
