&yesterday [time]

singing silently with the night
[she flew out the window like a kite]
man, those amber waves just enveloped the clouds
[singing with a voice so loud]

there used to be a clock on the wall,
but it fed on the time between my hands
&i broke it just to figure out when yesterday began.

    [she says, she says:
it's lucid, so undeniably placid
fighting for a fight that i have no fight for.]

yesterday.
blues just aren't sung like they used to,
but these words are what i'm holding onto.

    waiting.
waiting.
    waiting.

fingers frozen on veins & eyes glisten like glitter
between the shoes hitting pavement, splashing through the rain,
clouds obstruct the vision of a once sunny story-like day.

    waiting.
waiting.
    waiting.

&the time went by without her.

i was in a really big off mood the other day.
like, i was super tired & a lot of poetic words were going through my head.
& like, i just began to write.

it's about how i felt when i first got back home.
      bed rest & medication.
      loneliness & depression.

it's like thinking back how i was worried so much & thinking so much about something going to kill or eat me up again. somebody was going to be mad at me or something. you know? and then, everything was over. my semester was over. i had to go back home.

      yeah.
