Softly
I feel the steady beating
Of entwined heartbeats
In our ready embrace,
Keeping rhythm
With surges
Of my ever present love.
Your tender eyes
Drink in my own
And just for a second
We are each others,
And I sink into
Blissful oblivion.
But reality shatters
A clasp
Too long lingering,
And hesitantly
You turn your gaze away
To that other girl.

Beautiful!!! ' Reality. . . You turn your gaze away/To that other girl. . .'--How true, how sad!! Losing someone's love in a heartbeat; the question--did you ever have their love at all?
