My superstar

Dylan's eyes are like the brightest skies
brightening up my day
And when I'm down and staring at the ground
He alway knows what to say

He is so charming in a most disarming way
He brightens up my day
He has gift for cheering others up
although he'd never say

I'm sure I don't deserve him but I never have to pay
for all those times he makes my day,
so just this one time without any more silly rhyme
I want to make his

"Dyl, you are the best friend anyone could wish for.
I love you more than ballet, marshmallows and even Zac Efron (",)
and no matter where we go in life,
you will always be in my heart!
I love you, my superstar!"

Author notes

This poem is dedicated to my best friend (not my boyfriend...We're oly 12 and almost 12) in the whole world, Dyl. I've known him since I was 3 but every single day I love him more. I think I might need a new heart to fit all the love in. We've been through thick and thin but he always makes me smile and carries me through the rain and dances with me in the puddles!

In the last line I call him my superstar because one night a few weeks ago we were staring at the stars and he jokingly asked me where the 'super' star was and I told him very sincerely that he is MY superstar..and he always will be...

Please tell me what you think

    excellent

Wow Ellie this is really something! I can't imagine you and Dylan trying to cope without each other. This is one of the most loving poems you've written to him yet. I miss him deeply; he's so busy he never has time to come on and talk with me anymore. Nevertheless he's engaged in a lot of things and I wish him well. Thank you for sharing this sweetheart. It's been so long since I read anything new of yours. God bless. Love Brian

Thank you Brian I can't imagine my life without Dyl either and I hope I never have to. Even when we are both busy (he has a lot of extra-curricular committments this month) we try really hard to find time for each other. He still comes to watch my ballet lesson every single saturday. How amazing is that? He must get bored but he still always comes and smiles at me the whole way through. We always try to have at least one night a week where we watch DVDs together or just talk and laugh. Those moments brighten my whole week no matter what! Thanks again for commenting

my pleasure Ellie. Obviously the two of you care deeply about one another's feelings so you do everything possible not to let each other down. That's such an important, graceful asset to a person's humanity. I wish you both well.
