Shouldn't the wise be giving us fool the words? After all they are the wise ones, with pearls of wisdom to share!

I definately agree with you, what's the point of a word to the wise, they are supposed to be the ones giving us the words of advice. It should be 'a note to the wise' or... 'a word to those who we'll say are wise but really we just dont want to anger them by saying they are actually quite thick'. Well put.
