Thoughts of you flood my mind
Late at night
While I’m trying to sleep
Many sleepless nights have occurred.
And I fear there may be many more to come.
Memories of you are still stored in my heart
You are one person I can never escape
Nor do I want to escape from you
But the pain in my heart will not subside
For I know you and I will never be
I keep holding on for one day
When I can only hope and dream
That you will be mine.
But waiting for you is like waiting for
The sun to come out on a cloudy day; useless and disappointing
I can only hold my feelings back for so long.
I can only put my life on hold for you for so long.
And everyday leads me to another disappointment.
You’ve had your chance.
Just give it up!
Be with me.
Hold me.
Love me.
But I think it’s time for me to face reality.
You’ll never show up.
I would be lying if I said that my days of waiting for you are over.
Because they never will be.
But I will try to move on as best as I can.
So one day if you do change your mind.
I will still be here waiting.

Sometimes waiting is the hardest part and you just know the end result will be worth all those hard nights of staring at your phone waiting for it to ring or burning your eyes out gazing into a computer screen anxiously hoping for a reply. I know the desperation and helplessness you feel. I do.
