A Gift Of Life

A flower blooms amongst her beauty

A gift of happiness and life

She can feel it within her soul

The joy of being mother and wife

A new day comes and she waits

Her stomach growing into a being

The world has relaxed and stilled

Bringing a presence of freeing

Months have passed now

He's ready to breathe his first breath

She waits with love

Such a change from death

As he enters the world she cries

A new reason for her to live

She holds him in her gentle arms

Making a vow of giving all she can give

Mother Earth by Jessica Galbreth

I think that anything is a gift from Mother Nature, especially having a child. Though I never want to have one lol. Good luck with the new babies!

    Beautiful

This is just breathtaking. It brought back so many of the wonderful feelings of having my precious twins. It made me feel quite emotional.
    Congratulations on the Gold...very deserving.

thank you for entering in my contest.
I liked this one, it has that realistic feeling of anticipation to it, that you get with the "expecting" part of having children.
thank you again , and good luck.

Wow. That is absolutely beautiful. I loved this. As a mother, it really spoke to me, and with the love and emotion in it, I find it had to believe you don't have kids. Beautifully written.

I like how you move the focus from hope to realization- I think it's very appropriate, considering the subject matter. The line about moving on from thoughts of death was a good one, too. And that last verse is a killer. Great job!
