Stagnation

Its hard to make much of yourself
when all you can make is a mess
concentrating on mediocrity
how you're always second best
you talk too much to compensate
for the lack of interesting
things to say
you're driving everyone away
your life a loop
a repeating phase
you're going home to search for something
but you're not sure what or who
a change so great, in so little time
would they even recognize you?
they'll know the face
of the girl with dreams
and the lack of courage to realize them
and alone in the bath
with pencil in hand
theres no chance that she'll surprise them
she's going far away
just to be the same
with second best
her only claim to fame
stagnant
in her lack of faith
