Preaching a sermon ment for the good
Behind all your words is the secret you hide
You're no righteous man, you're the devil in disguise
Do you know what you have done?
People came for help
You gave them more pain
Can you look in the mirror?
Do you know any shame?
Continue to hide
I know what you are
Devil in Holy Robes
There's no Heaven for you
Listen and watch how the cult is started
No second chance for the dearly departed
Eyes shine with admiration as they look upon the mirage
They'll follow you to death
For that is what you are
Drink up everyone
Let the sickness claim your mind
The devil won't shed his disguise
You claim to be a man of God
You claim to save us all
But look at all the people who got to close to you
They are shells of themselves
Because of what you do
Continue to hide
I know what you are
Devil in Holy Robes
There's no Heaven for you
You'll be baptised in the fires
Behind all your words is the secret you hide
You're no righteous man, you're the devil in disguise
Do you know what you have done?
People came for help
You gave them more pain
Can you look in the mirror?
Do you know any shame?
Continue to hide
I know what you are
Devil in Holy Robes
There's no Heaven for you
Listen and watch how the cult is started
No second chance for the dearly departed
Eyes shine with admiration as they look upon the mirage
They'll follow you to death
For that is what you are
Drink up everyone
Let the sickness claim your mind
The devil won't shed his disguise
You claim to be a man of God
You claim to save us all
But look at all the people who got to close to you
They are shells of themselves
Because of what you do
Continue to hide
I know what you are
Devil in Holy Robes
There's no Heaven for you

Author notes
This idea is partly based on my great grandfather. He was a bad man. I've been toying with the idea for a while and finally decided to put it in words. Please tell me what you think.

Unspoken truths
The unspoken truths that your have carried deep within finally let loose on this virtual paper. Let your heart rise above for the hatred lies burried with the past as bad men and women must rest too.
Lift your sight higher that you may yet feel the warmth in the early morning sunrise, the beauty is till within all you must do is learn to live and love for God will keep tally for those who run wicked on this here earth.
I like it, I like it so!

Wow, This sent chills down my spine.
My grandfather was a bad man too.
This very deep and personal poem, that i can very much relate too.
What gave me the chills the most was the end where you said "You'll be baptised in the fires"
And when i saw your notes there was a shock of disturbia on my face because the whole time i was reading this i had my grandfather on my mind.
Nicely done.

This was very good. Im not big on religion and things, but when I read you authors note, it made it better and more intresting.Very good though

This reminds me of my poem "Clergy".
And yes, I think it's ridiculous when people (esp. pastors and ppl in positions like that) do things and say things that are totally not what God would stand for and is totally un-Biblical
Great write, I really liked your metaphors

Very deep. I think it is well put together, good symbolism, and imagery.
-
Very emotional. I can see you have thought about this for a while before putting it down. I think you may have more to say on this subject in the future. The impression I have is this is but a crack in the dam.
Great job. I liked it alot.
