Lame jokes and kiddy games-
Monopoly and Scrabble,
Trampolines and water fights,
Campfires in your back yard.
Those secrets we would tell each other,
And weddings we would plan-
Playing dress up,
Doctor,
House,
And putting on shows.
We were inseparable.
Now we see each other
In a store or across the hall,
And look away-
Pretending we’re not there.
You stop talking as I walk by
And I know you were making fun of me.
Best friends forever
Separated forever.
