There's always a light at the end of the tunnel;
a glimmer of hope to light the darkest of days
or a bare inch of rope to help you find your way.
You just have to reach out a hand.
There's always another to take your place;
to step up to the mark and fight for his life
to walk into the dark and face trouble and strife.
The gap you leave will be filled.
There's always a child born of the parent;
a seed of the father to right his wrongs
a ghost of the mother to sing her songs.
The child lives after their death.
There's always a baby to rise from the ashes.
There may even be life after death.
But whatever the ending, the finish, the outcome,
the beginning starts making its nest.
Author notes
This came pretty quickly from the quote given.
My first poem for quite a while, so I'm reasonably pleased with the result.
