i.
so maybe it's way past due
time to take down your pictures
and lock your old love notes away
bury the memories forever
in shoe boxes, beneath layers of dust
but i just can't make my fingers
rip you from the wall
as is sit here in my bed
staring at you, trying to find the strength
to move on, but your eyes, oh those eyes
they always did paralyze me
and render me breathless; useless
i just didn't know you're power over me
was still so strong, and even through
the black and white of these old photos.
ii.
and now i'm lying here breathless; useless
unable to move; sobbing && lost
because i finally found the strength
to destroy all i had left of you
photographs lay in the trach can
next to my bed, burning
and i'm watching as your face
slowly disintegrates.

reminded me specifically of this http://allpoetry.com/poem/3250758

Dark and depressing. I know how lost relationships can suck really bad. It's hard to say good bye to your lover.

i did the same thing with the ex-girlfriend before the last one, felt liberating if you ask me

Indeed, this is a lovely write, full of emotion and impact. I remember feeling much the same way, and as you did, I wrote about it... Your poem took me back to that time; a place in my past that I never wish to return to; but in such an eloquent way, laced with melancholia known only to those of us who have been there.
Grammar-whoring time!
-Line 9 should be, "as I sit here in bed"
-Line 14: "you're" should be "your"
-Line 22: "trach can" should be "trash-can" or "trashcan" (depending on whether you're from Canada or the USA)
If this is personal, I hope that writing this has brought you some sort of closure. In all, beautiful poetry, and an utter joy to read. Well done!
In love and light,

what mighty depth you gave this write!
I must admit I adore your poetry!
I agree the strength of your innervoice is mighty mighty
indeed!
It is so true isn't it...that life comes at us..sometimes
expecting giant leaps when really...it is just gentle
steps of understanding reality.
May you make them boldy, and write them out for us
to gasp and learn wisely!

p.s. do not forget to stuff your pockets with tender
grains of mercy.

I love this write..it's so powerful and strong.
" sobbing && lost

slowly disintegrates"
