Love beyond the Sea

 

 

Underneath a salted sky a tear falls
longing to embrace a love so far away
And in-between the waves that crest
I can reach out and touch your essence

Our spirit's dance in the moonlight
casting shadows that echo across the sea
Entwining us together inside this love
that swirls the sands beneath our feet

And so my soul sings out with happiness
even though the sea burns at open wounds
Knowing deep within my heart of hearts
love reaches you wherever that may be

    This is another well done piece and carries the same feeling to it as the last one of your's I read. Your imagry and word play you an enjoyable writter to read. I think in some ways this is a very soothing piece. Image and Visions.

    Well, originally I was going to cheat, read some of your poetry to find your style and sort of mimic something to win a contest lol. Yet.. after reading this I found myself unable to accept such a task, and instead submitted something more to my style.
    I must say though, this is very deep, I know it was inspired, but is there someone dedicated to? These thoughts were beautiful and the descriptions amazingly vivid.

    You Captured "the sea is my soul"

    Congratulations, Tony, on this testament to love. Your use of metaphors and wonderful imagery tugged at my heart. Write this poem on rice paper, and frame it. What a loving gift to your wife at Christmas! You don't have to be with someone you love to feel their essence. Just wonderful!
