Sunflowers

A gleam of golden sparkle
pokes the soul with dazzled fun.
This plant of brightened wisdom
is our passion 'neath the sun.

The cravings in the petals
leave a calming, wily fume.
Our romance grows eternal
with a lust that's in full bloom.

Soon stems of fervent splendor,
and a creamy, floral throne --
We started as a seed, but
now our hearts have fully grown.

Nice piece. The rhyme and rhythm made it a fun read, and I like the connection between love and the happiness and cheerfulness associated with the sun and sunflowers.

I guess I'm just OCD, but I prefer my poem pages to be clean and simple. I usually remove myself from contests once they're over, regardless of how I place... I know, I'm weird like that.

The flow, the rhyme, its flawless. I also love sunflowers, there is just something so lively about them. This piece is wonderful. I love the emotion in this piece, and I just love how it rolls, off the mind and the tongue. Exceptional piece here, very well written! Keep the muse alive!

    ME TOO!

Every morning, I go out and check my precious sunflowers to see how tall they have grown overnite. I have them planted all over my three country acres. I adore them, and also like you, I associate them with love also. We must be sunflower twins! I love it when they finish, for my birds simply adore them. This write is divine, and if I had any smiley jobs left, I would give you all five of them! CUDOS!!!!
