Nostalgia returns to
my fragmented mind
Beach swept hair
tangled with the
ocean's salty air
How I long to return
to the way memories
used to be
Sadness fills my soul
as the days slowly
fade away into the horizon
Hoof prints line the shoreline
smoothed by the gentle waves
Time disappeared just as any
imprints left in the sand
nothing to prove existence
Pain finds its way to
unnerve everything that once was
into a longing memory
