Because of you I'm not the person I used to be.
Because you broke my heart, I'm not the same person that people used to see.
Because of you I've realized that in the end, the only person you can truly depend on is yourself.
Because of you I've learned not to regret all of the memories, but to quietly tuck them away at the back of a shelf.
Because of you I've learned that I can't let people push me around.
Because of you I've learned that I just need to turn all of this stupid drama into pointless noise in the background.
Because of you I've learned that anger does no good.
Because of you I've learned that there are times in life when no one but myself completely understood.
Because of you I've learned that there are times when all I want is for the pain to end,
Because of you I've also learned that I have to keep my chin up because it gets better just around the bend
I didn't learn these lessons because of what other people do,
I learned them because of you.
