With deep knee bends, I look into your eyes
Your smile whispers love without deceit or lies
You have not yet learned to hide or wear a disguise
Your arms raise in the air, your face pleads to rise
So Daddy lifts you above his head and tosses you up high
You laugh and giggle with glee as you fly in the sky
Daddy lowers you down to rest upon his shoulders broad
With a smile of delight you rest securely and applaud
Your world is small but you are a giant and a queen
As Daddy takes you on a tour of places yet unseen
With wonder and awe you see the world and all its delight
You have not yet learned to distrust, you have no fright
As Daddy lowers you back to the grassy ground
You do and delightful dance and turn yourself around
You see a daisy growing up through grassy lawn
To you it is the sun painted with the colors of the dawn
To adults a daisy is just a weed to discard away
But to you it is the most beautiful yellow bouquet
A golden gift of love for your Daddy to be blessed
With love and joy so tenderly and willingly expressed
From his daughter, his delight, a daisy is a joyous lift
A yellow weed is transformed to a precious, valued gift
Author notes
I have no child, but I love them. I know what it like to give a child a ride on my shoulders and what a delight it is to receive a daisy as a gift.

This is such a sweet and surprisingly accurate depiction of things around here. Are you spying on us?
She is definitely a daddy's girl. Thank you so much for entering the contest, good luck.
