Weathering The Storm.

Windswept I dance within your trance
on choppy waves two ships advance,
in gilded wash there hides romance
there's every chance, there's every chance.

This storm surrounding, nothing new
as grey clouds curling, misconstrue,
yet when they clear the sky is blue
oh what a view, oh what a view.

The waters calm and two hulls meet
the spell so strong and beat so sweet,
together now, a burning fleet
it is complete, it is complete.

Our ships have weathered this great gale
in waters warm we'll bask and sail,
for never will we lose the trail
as love prevails, as love prevails.

Monotetra Form

Prompt - The Night by Emily Bronte

The night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow;
But a tyrant spell has bound me,
And I cannot, cannot go.
The giant trees are bending
Their bare boughs weighed with snow;
The storm is fast descending,
And yet I cannot go.
Clouds beyond clouds above me,
Wastes beyond wastes below;
But nothing drear can move me:
I will not, cannot go.

    I thought there was a lot of strength in this poem. I liked the extended metaphor for love almost like two ships meeting in the night. The language is well chosen and the poem has great flow. This is a well-written and articulate poem. Thank you for entering.
