Hope

Beyond the shade of tamarind old,
opens a window painted in gold
with little cut out of silvery star
and a dangling wind chime echoing far

Each day when sun rays kiss the leaves
Two little eyelids part in a belief
To see the dreams they keep, come true
shoving the illness, and sailing through

When evenings stroll in corridors grey
drapped in spirited cotton and spray
The little heart, fragile and weak
splashes the walls with fantasies bleak

At nights when moonbeams melt in dew,
floating snowflakes shimmer with hue
An old lullaby the tamarind sings,
and fanatasy faries get new wings!

Author notes

The above verse is about a child who is suffering from heart problem. For a child of eight years living in a hospital seems tough, but not for the one on whom this verse is based. I knew one such girl, who was admitted due to heart problem and spent a long time going through the treatment but she never lost hope... now she's a healthy grown up and is in class 12. kudos to her!
