When the world ends where will you be?
Will you stand with your friends or on the fence to see?
Though some men want to watch the whole world burn
Could they change their mind when it ceases to turn?
If you are laying in bed and drawing your last breath
Will you look back on your life and smile or beg for death?
What if your friends are there standing at the your side
Would that help you spread your wings and glide?
What advice would you give to a child
Something so innocent but strong and wild
A being who doesn’t believe anything goes away
Will you tell them to follow their heart and never stray?
How do you send someone down a better street
When that path was never trodden by your feet?
As you ponder this simple query
Does it make your hear fret and worry?
Do you hear the bell toll in your ear?
Like the pounding of a heart full of fear
Knowing that your life could end at any time?
Will your end be dreadful or sublime?
Yes, life is a beautiful and precious gift
While you read this I hope your burdens lift
Because in the end it will all balance out
Of this I have absolutely no doubt
This life though it seems to be so long
Is over so quickly just like a song
The melody will continue on
Long after your breath is gone
So when that child comes to your side waiting to hear
Speak of your experience the message will be clear
Though you have faltered more than once along the way
You did what you thought was right something few can say
What did you think

This is so lovely, a piece to give to someone who feels life has passed them by, or feels the sadness and pain and has lost the light. Great read. Love, C

Wow baby.
"How do you send someone down a better street
When that path was never trodden by your feet?"
Uh, I loved this line. It really envelopes so much truth and convicting honesty! I love it! And then in the last stanza, that very last line. Oh. My. Gosh. So true! How many times do we do what we think is right. Being the humans that we are, we tend to overthink things until we reach a point in which we convince ourselves to believe a false truth. I really, really enjoyed this poem. It we really provacative! Great Job! Keep on writing!
Luv ya oodles!
