A Teddy Bear's Perspective

I think I'm more special
Than anyone else.
I see them all waiting
Lonely on the shelf.

You snuggle me
Every night, every day.
The teachers say no
But you bring me anyway.

I'm cuddled and talked to
Oh, so very much,
I love when you pat me,
With your ever soft touch.

I feel kind of bad
For that group over there.
They have nothing to do
Through long hours, just stare.

I'm pretty tired out
I'm dirty and worn
I've been throws on the ground
My hair has been torn

They may think they're
Oh so less special than me,
But when I look at them,
In their own way, they're special, you see.

One day I got kicked
Right under the bed.
During the nights
I was on the floor instead.

Johnny couldn't find me
So he snuggled Tiffany instead.
I feel oh so lonely
Under this bed.

"It happens all the time,"
I heard a voice say
I looked all around me
Every which way

I saw Cassandra,
Right next to me, too,
And I knew instantly,
Those words were true.

We learned to be friends
And not fight so much.
Because under the bed
We just had lint and such.

We learned not to be lonely
We would always be friends
Until the world would reach
The final, sad end

Now I know how
The others did feel,
Like they'd been replaced,
That they hadn't been appealed.

Then one day,
Johnny came by,
And walked right past us,
With a big sigh,

He missed us so,
I could tell,
Although sometimes
We did smell,

He picked up the drooping blankets
Took a look under here
It felt so nice
To just have him near

And we were loved,
Together, not apart,
It was so different,
Than it was in the start.

It is so much better,
To be happy with friends,
Than to be lonely,
With no one when it ends.

Author notes

Hehe I thought this was cute, especially the fact that it kind of told a lesson in the ending. Did you like??

this was totally cute!!! though sweet and a tad bit sad, i'm soo happy with how you ended this!!!! it is a great motto for life in general. life can get dirty, lonesome, and a bit sad, but as long as we have friends to lean on it makes it all worth it in the end. thanks so much for sharing this fantastic write and for your entry!

Very cute indeed! Reminded me of Toy Story a lot!
It was both sad and happy. And cute and cuddly!

    So cute

This is a fresh approach to growing up. But I am an old lady and I still hug my teddy bear. :-) Keep on writing Kera, and thank you for sharing this image rich and very meaningful poem.
