Burning Belief

she's holding silence
like secrets in the
palm of her hand -

    scratching through
    open mouthed simplicity
    for something close to
    warmth

& it's all crashing down
around cynical smiles and
cyanide truths

but asphyxia has a
taste like apples
& fruit salad was
never a favourite

Author notes

I have no fxcking clue what happened with this. Seriously, it's a disaster.

okay, the quote didn't make much sense to me after reading this one, but on its own it is a wonderful write! Your last stanza drew it all together and gave that 'BANG' effect - I enjoyed it thoroughly, despite the fact that it didn't do the quote much justice lol!

I kind of went everywhere with this one. I started off with an idea... but then it ran away before I could chain it to something
Thank you for your unfailing honesty
