There goes another broken heart,
and all the little pieces,
you can choose to end it here and now,
but the pain it just increases.
You see, once I choose to make that call,
But I was so mistaken,
there is nothing like the pain you've caused,
the loved ones you've forsaken.
Though I may not know your reasons,
or the things you're going through,
I've been exactly where you are right now,
and I know this to be true.
There are many things in life that hurt,
and leave us bent and broken,
but there is sorrow deep within us all,
even if left unspoken.
But no matter what you choose to do,
I really hope you listen,
there's a fate that's worse than this my friend,
if you make that one decision,
So before I make this way too long,
and before I say goodbye,
know that for everything there's consequence,
even when you die.

Wow this is amazing, one of the most wonderfully written poems and messages I've ever read, and it is so much like poems I have written. Your friend is very lucky to have you, and I hope he/she can find the light at the end of the tunnel that is depression.
